Oldest House in Los Feliz Hits Market For First Time in Decades

by Eve Bachrach

Gated Laughlin Park, between Los Feliz Boulevard and Franklin Avenue, has been home to a bunch of Hollywood luminaries, including Cecil B. DeMilleWC Fields, and, well, Kristen Stewart, and Natalie Portman. It’s also home to Los Feliz’s oldest house. The Cummings Estate was built in 1905 and hasn’t been on the market for 50 years. The 4,000-square-foot house comes with five bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms and sits on .78 acres. In the minus column, it could use a little updating, particularly in the kitchen-and-bathrooms department. In the plus column is just about everything else: “360-degree views; mature grounds; sunny exposure; extraordinary original fixtures and finishes throughout; grand scale.” You know, if you’re into that sort of thing. It just hit the market asking $3.3 million.
